Waving Lighters in the Crowd

I may be aging myself here but I was clearing out some old files and came across these. Some are great memories, some I don't remember, and some are missing. All of them resemble beautiful times with friends. Not that doesn't happen today but it WAS different. No screens blocking views. Just the sense of the moment and the scent of the air - when it was rebellious. From the orange glow of a lighter to the blue glow of a screen, we've gone from hot to cold. But that's just a sign of the times - a transition into the digital age in which paper tickets are a thing of the past.

Rather than an ephemeral digital pass, these stubs somehow carry a concert into the future. They are like little time machines - receipts of experiences that influenced who I am as a musician. And, are also a reminder that thanks to time, we get to have many experiences that mold us as individuals.

So, here's to waving a lighter in a crowd. The act may be gone but its meaning will always remain the same.
